Chris Mudd, Director
christopher.mudd@sumnerschools.org Mr. Chris Mudd is proud to serve as Band Director at White House High School. Mr. Mudd earned his degree in Music Education from the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky, in addition to a Master of Educational Leadership degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Mr. Mudd has taught numerous high school and middle school band programs across the state of Kentucky and Tennessee, including Merrol Hyde Magnet School, LEAD Neely's Bend Middle School, Casey County High School, Nelson County High School, Stuart Middle School, Pleasure Ridge Park High School, Adair County High School, Glasgow High School, Barren County High School, and Ballard High School. Mr. Mudd’s students have achieved such accolades as MTSBOA Superior Concert Band Performance Ratings, Bands of America Class A National Champion (2014, 2015, 2016), Kentucky State Champion (2015 Governor’s Cup), Kentucky State Finalist (2013-2017), and Bands of America Regional Champion (2013, 2015, 2016). His percussion ensembles and color guards consistently receive Distinguished Ratings and “Best in Class” awards. Mr. Mudd’s professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), National Education Association (NEA), Tennessee Bandmasters Association (TBA), Middle Tennessee State Band and Orchestra Association (MTSBOA), Tennessee Music Educators Association (TMEA), Kentucky Educators Association (KEA), Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA), Percussion Arts Society (PAS), and he is a member of Music for All. Mr. Mudd finds fulfillment in knowing that his students will go on to be lifelong learners and leaders in the adult world. |
